Wild Fun with the Wazoo Adventure Bracelet! Video & blog post collection

Hello Adventurers!

First weekend of 2015 and I'm planning to get a final attempt to catch a fish on tape using the gear from the Awesome Wazoo Adventure paracord survival bracelet! I LOVE this bracelet & using the parts.

The fishing challenge is indeed a challenge! It's testing me to switch my approach up. I'm Game for a final round before the contest closes 1/10. Wish me luck! :-) In the meantime, check out my video/posts collection below on the demos I performed.

Here are a few scenes from my making a homemade fishing lure demo video. LOVE the creative thinking this contest has challenged my approach!:-)
Pictures from another fishing attempt outting. No catch yet & the James River ate my lure on this day. BAD! Handy there's a 2nd hook in the Adventure bracelet!
Action shot working the Wazoo fishing challenge on the beautiful James River in Richmond, Virginia!
No fish, ok. Time to play with paracord.
Another on the James River Wazoo fishing attempt action shot. This ex-Cali Gal goes BRRRR at 60ish degrees;-)

Since receiving the Wazoo Adventure bracelet to demo, I've been blogging & posting a series of YouTube videos . I'm having a blast demoing the pieces!

This bracelet has 16 survival skills tools integrated in the paracord bracelet. I haven't seen one like it and am an even bigger fan after the demos!

My videos (links below) and blog posts feature:

I love the feeling of preparedness, gaining knowledge about dealing with certain scenarios, and the empowerment knowing what to do myself if I had to use the skills. I have my Dad, a true Adventurer, to thank for most of the skills I acquired and my ongoing passion for learning more!

I'm looking forward to continuing to share my experiences covering the Wazoo Adventure bracelet. 3 things to view the action and get into the game!

Video 12: Fire made on 1st attempt! Wazoo Adventure bracelet demo/review

WAHOO Wazoo! Made my fire in seconds using the adventure bracelet first aid tinder packet, striker blade & firesteel! What a combo!!! Certainly one I'd want in a survival situation.

Safety first! For this demo I used aluminum for oil as part of my workstation. I demo that I use the little ceramic knife on the opposite end of the striker blade to cut arrange your van just a demo how sharp that little knife is. For my fire making, I found some little dry grass do you make a little miniature nest and put the first aid tinder material on top of it. Check out the video to see just how quickly that fire was lit in mere seconds!

I continue to rave about this bracelet. I haven't seen a bracelet out there that incorporates 16 different tools within the bracelet itself. I'm a big fan of it now especially after doing these different demos and testing out the parts. I think of worse scenario if I lost everything or someone that I love lost all their gear I really want them to have something around the wrist like this that could help support their survival until they were rescued.

That being said, the big key here is not only to have the equipment, but to also know how to use them. That takes practice, someone showing you, or you read up on it. I find this stuff very interesting, fun in the challenge, and fascinating. I'm having a blast with this opportunity through Wazoo's review challenge to test out some of their pieces, share some of my techniques with you and have fun while doing it!

Check out some action pics from today's demo taping & learn more through links below in the Watch Do section!

BAM on first attempt! Great pieces Wazoo. Worked faster than I anticipated. Watch the video for the action!

Video 5: Wazoo Adventure Bracelet Review - Getting Fired UP!

Impromptu video to give a quick demo of the Firesteel & Striker blade in action!

Friends, I just couldn't wait:-) Here's a brief demo of how awesome the firesteel and striker blade combo on Wazoos bracelet works.

I wasn't planning on doing this demo but I just felt inspired. I'm confident I could've started a fire faster, but what I would tell you all is that I was actually holding a Q-tip, believe it or not, between my feet for this demo!:-) Talk about self-reliance videotaping! Not easy my friends, but I was up for the challenge and I did it!

So again, this was just a quickie sneak peek of how awesome the tools from Wazoo's adventure bracelet work. I cannot wait to give you more demos as I totally undress the bracelet this weekend! GAME ON!:-)

Video 2, 3, & 4 are up! Wazoo Adventure Bracelet: New Videos & Quickie Demos

Hello Fellow Adventurers!

I hope your week is rocking. I've posted 3 new videos for you to check out. Buckle up!!:-)

Here are a few action pictures and highlights of each video. Click & watch!

In the zone here with what I'm saying about the Awesome Wazoo Adventure paracord bracelet in this freeze frame. Click links below to watch my growing video series!

Video 2: This is a cue up to video 3. I talk about my plans to show you the compass and glow light in video 3. I also make one correction to a video I pulled. I had used the retro-reflector in the daylight to reflect, but actually the retro-reflector is designed for night use. It's optimal for night dection & rescue. There are special crystals in the retro-reflector material that make it a powerful reflector at night when a light hits it. I've tested it and it WOWS! Stay tuned, I will be presenting a live demo in the dark soon to show you the retro-reflectors awesomeness!

There is a mirror found under the female side of the buckle. That is designed to be used to reflect against sunlight. A future demo on that one to come, too.

Take in the gorgeous James River setting in this video while I game plan my coverage for the next video!

Video 3: Check out the action! In this quick demo I show you the compass and glow light. Special guest appearance by some James River ducks.

BAM!!!:-D
Video 4: This is my favorite video yet! I'm a sucker for sparks!:-) Check out my demo showcasing the first aid/tinder packets, Ranger bands, and steel striker/firesteel. Be ready to be WOWed by the spark action at the end of the demo. The Firesteel & stricker blade are two of my favorite pieces!!!

If you missed it...

I'm looking forward to bringing you a separate demo where I actually do build a mini fire! :-) Stay tuned!

Video 1: Buckle up! Let's get the Wazoo Review party started!

Hello Fellow Adventurers!

I'll be posting a series of YouTube videos over the next few weeks to review the Wazoo Adventure bracelet. My videos (link below) and blog posts will feature:
* Seeing the bracelet in action
* Explanation of each item
* A demo of me using each of the 16
  components
* Me having a BLAST reviewing this
  awesome bracelet
* TBA ~ Some special features to come

For as long as I can remember, I've had a passion for learning about survival skills. I love the feeling of preparedness, gaining knowledge about dealing with certain scenarios, and the empowerment knowing what to do myself if I had to use the skills. One of my favorite books is the US Army Survival Manual: FM 21-76. Check it out. Insightful!

My interest in and inspiration to continue learning about survival skills was my Dad. He was an accomplished Army Officer, though he would never boast about honors/medals.  That was one of the many qualities I admired about him. In his younger days, he lived adventure being a part of the 82nd, a Green Beret and venturing to far off places. Growing up he shared with me ways to do things and readings. He passed away this year. The opportunity to practice with this product review keeps my memories strong of our talks about survival skills, which I always enjoyed. He will always inspire me.

So, I'm looking forward to sharing with you my experience of covering the Wazoo Adventure bracelet. 3 things to view the action and get into the game!

Wearing the bracelet at the Farmers Market in Richmond, Virginia, this morning. I love my fresh produce. Feeding the mind and body with quality keeps my happy feet fired up! Here I am buying Okra from Crumpton Farm.
This bracelet is loaded with 16 tools integrated in it. I really like Wazoo's site. Clean look and details on each of the survival tools.
Hyperlinks on the site cover each item found in the bracelet.
The folded insert that came with the bracelet includes great overview details.
Details and specs on each item!
The list continues! In my first video, I demo the whistle. Really smart design integrating it in the buckle. Easy to use.
Made in the USA, right on!
Nick, this bracelet ROCKS! Looking forward to unveiling more.....
....and a sneak peak at my next video to be posted. It will introduce the compass, glow light & reflective mirror.
Is this bracelet "exciting around your wrist" or what?!!?

Stay tuned for more, Fellow Adventurers!

WAHOO Wazoo Adventure Bracelet Reviewer in Me!

Wazoo asked ....

My response... I was born ready!!!

My Dad was Army Special Forces and the most awesome man I've ever known. He taught me a lot growing up about being self sufficient and learning about survival skills continues to fascinate me.

I'm very curious and love growing my experiences that enhance my skills. I find that challenging subjects captivate my attention as I work to learn what's involved to perform more than your average bear kind of things in Life. Fires up my Happy Feet!:-)

In part, my drive to acquire certain skills is fueled by my desire to be prepared. I had an interest in being first aid/CPR trained if I ever had to help a loved one, primarily, and to have survival skills so I don't feel clueless if I needed to use those skills. I had an interest and I take steps to grow those skills. I don't like not knowing what to do if I can learn it and use it to better myself and those I care about, if needed.

I read about this Wazoo Adventure parachord bracelet months ago and did a  post about my intrigue in it. Low & behold, an opportunity has come up for select Reviewers to disassemble their bracelet and provide reviews. I have been selected as a reviewer and am eager to get into action!

In my day to day, I'm a training professional and enjoy sharing what I learn. I plan to do several YouTube videos and posts to this blog as I review various components of this survival bracelet. I am excited to unveil the pieces and show you how I apply my skills!

You've seen from previous posts I've shared how much fun I have exploring the Virginia outdoors. Join me on this mad skills adventure. You may pick up something new or better, share tips with me so I expand my skills!

Stay tuned for more!!:-)

Virginia Fishing Adventure ~ Rappahannock River

This weekend I was invited to my friend's family river house. Since I wasn't flying, I could not pass up the chance to fish at this beautiful location.

My goal was to catch 5 fish. I caught 6. I used bloodworms. They completely grossed me OUT. Bloodworms remind me of that desert worm thing that ate Boba Fett in Return of the Jedi, just smaller scale gross. I had the uncontrollable face contortions dealing with handling that ickiness, but after a few rounds of cutting them up & putting their pieces on the hook I was A-Ok with it. Check!

The worms were a hit & I enjoyed the fishing fun. The most rewarding part of it was using the reel I respooled by myself. I didn't have anyone show me. I watched a few youtubes. It took me 2 attempts to get it right. I was very pleased my rod/reel worked great!

Here are a few pictures of my catch & release fishing Sunday Funday. Looking forward to more Virginia Fishing!

Love these moments & sights!
First bloodworm bag purchase. Fishes loved them. They smell UCK & are quite gross, but were very effective on this fishing day!
Gross, getting my lure bloodwormed.
First catch. His eyes say it all... He's not feeling this moment.
Guy 2! Ok, I know what you're thinking... This is the same fish as above. Wrong! He was a tad bigger & had a smidge more purple to him.
Fishy 3. Dude was less than thrilled I got him. Hence that Hmph expression.

Fish 4 was slick, he got away at the last minute. No photo shot.

Fish 5 was The Big Boy! Here's me handling the wiggly situation.
Big guy!
Releasing him
Me & big SC (Spot Croaker), before I released him.
Two of my favorites ~ fishing & flying!
Gorgeous sunsets here in Virginia
Pano shot!

What's your favorite part of fishing? What's the biggest fish you've caught?
What's your favorite bait ~ fresh and/or salt water?
Fess up! I'd love to hear your experiences.
